The four have made their first appearance in court and are yet to enter a plea of not guilty.

The suspects, who are all male and range in age from 16 to 21, were all taken into custody last week and will now be held on suspicion of stealing, having stolen property, and perverting the course of justice.

According to an official statement from the police, the police recovered the stolen items from the suspects' homes.

Hair weaves, shoes, clothing, and a watch were among the items taken during the incident that resulted in the deaths of the 21 adolescents.

According to an eyewitness, the 21 teenagers started passing out in the bar last month as they were celebrating the end of the school term.

A preliminary toxicology assessment revealed that all of the victims' bloodstreams had amounts of methanol, although more current results were inconclusive.

Last week the bar owner and two staff members were charged with selling alcohol to minors in violation of South Africa's legal drinking age of 18.
