Free Beer for Vaccinated Customers

The association proposed their incentive to have the Ministry of Health use their establishments as vaccination centers. Boniface Gachoka, BAHLITA  secretary argued that bars have frequent customers like churches and hospitals and urged the Ministry to leverage this opportunity.

“Bars are gathering points for people and like churches, can become one of the places where people can be sure to access vaccines regularly." We extend an invitation to the Ministry of Health to collaborate with our members, especially the large establishments to provide vaccines to more Kenyan,” he stated.

The association is seeking to re-employ 90,000 workers who lost their jobs when 15,000 bars shut down during the pandemic.

“Our wish, which we can all help fulfill, is to have operations going back to normal and to never have again to shut down." “We thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for vacating the curfew,” The chairman, Frank Mbogo.
