Fresh Details in Purity Mwambia's Guns Galore Case Emerges Amid World Press Freedom Day

Even as the world is celebrating World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd to end the brutal killings and harassment imposed towards the media fraternity during coverage, fresh details revising the Guns Galore Documentary that was done by Citizen TV investigative Journalist Purity Mwambia has emerged.

This comes a time the Directorate of Criminal Investigations {DCI} Boss George Kinoti had summoned several citizen TV journalists as well as editors after accusing them of airing a documentary which according to him was meant to soil officers name, it has been reported that several organizations have come together to protect these journalists against any charges.

Well, reports given by different organizations including the Kenya Editors Guild {KEG] called out the DCI for allegedly trying to undermine the power and rights of Kenyan journalists when telling their stories.

They also further threatened to act if at all the director of criminal investigations wasn't going to treat them as demanded by the law.

In a documentary which was aired on Sunday 18th April, purity Mwambia exposed a ring of rogue Police Officers who were allegedly working hand in hand with rogue thugs where she revealed that these officers were giving rogue thugs their weapons: uniforms, handcuffs, and even guns after which they would share the Loot with these thugs.

According to Purity`s expose, a pistol was being leased at a price as low a Ksh 5,000 and an AK-47 at a price as low as Ksh10,000 to goons.

Besides a pistol was sold at Ksh 10,000 while the price of AK-47 ranged between 80,000 and 200,000 Kenyan shillings.
