Netherlands midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Wijnaldum who was Barcelona’s target changed his mind to move to French side and signed an agreement until June 2024. The contract will be completed once his medical tests are done.

Barcelona said that they had no intentions to raise their bid which prompted the midfielder to move to PSG after it raised their’s doubling the Spanish side.

The 30-year old did not sign contract extension with Liverpool which would have expired at the end of June.

Reports claim that manager Mauricio Pochettino convinced PSG to sign the midfielder due to his talent and experience at Liverpool.

Wijnaldum joined Liverpool on 22 July 2016 on a five-year contract, with around £23 million, whereby he wore number 5 jersey. He has played 237 matches and helped The Reds to win Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
