FIERCE ORIE ROGO MANDULI

It is with much sadness to hear that the renowned Orie Rogo Manduli Former  Chairperson of the National Council of Non-Governmental Organisations died at her home on 08/09/2021 in Riverside Drive, Nairobi at  73 years of age.

The late was in a good mood according to her Assistant Samuel Ndambuki as they prepared to go for a dental check-up. That on Tuesday, they went for a medical check-up in Nairobi hospital and later went to visit her brother in Embakasi.

Samuel noticed that Wednesday morning the late Orie Rogo Manduli was leaning on one side while she did her makeup which was odd.

Around July she was admitted in Nairobi Hospital for a month as she had Kidney complications.

Her body was lying at her house waiting to be taken to the morgue. A post mortem is yet to be conducted on her body as the cause of death is still not known.

The fierce Orie Rogo Manduli (late) lived a full and blissful life born in Kisumu County to one Gordon Rogo and Zeruiah Adhiambo. She attended Ng'iya Girls’ High School and later Butere Girls thereafter proceed to study at Machakos Girls popularly known as ‘‘Masaku California’’.

She remarried a Zambian cousin to one Chiluba Norman Manduli in 1980.

It’s worth noting that Mrs. Manduli was a woman of her class and will be remembered for her sky-scraping headgear popular in Nigerian culture.  She was the first woman to participate in the East African Safari Rally in 1974 and 1975 driving a Colt Lancer.

She advocated for women's rights and equality and she hated being stereotyped or undermined because of her gender. The women who participated in the rally were foreigners and very few. She was a lioness in her cage and she will forever be missed.

REST WELL, MAMA!!!
