A letter issued by the office of the government of Kenya`s spokesperson Cyrus Oguna on Friday 23rd July refuted claims that went viral concerning internet disruption for 2 months.

Government Responds to Internet Disruption Allegations

According to the letter, the information about the internet disruption was misleading since the relocation of internet-related infrastructure to allow for the construction of the Rironi Mau Summit highway was not in any way going to disrupt the provision of internet services.

The internet users across Kenya are therefore advised not to panic as the ministry of ICT, Innovations and youth affairs, working in conjunction with the ministry of infrastructure, through KENHA, have devised a mechanism to ensure that there will be zero effect on internet supply during the permanent relocation of the fiber optic cable to pave way for road construction.
