This clarification comes hours after the Nairobi Boss on Monday directed that all impounded motorcycles by City Hall and associated with petty offenses be released.
Sakaja made the directive at City Hall while meeting with county government employees.
In order for Boda Boda and electronic taxis to function in an orderly manner and avoid harassment, Sakaja instructed the county officials to designate drop-off and pick-up areas for them.
However, he urged hawkers and Boda Boda drivers to follow the law, emphasizing that freedom had its limits.
With immediate effect, the cases against the riders whose motorcycles had been seized were to be dropped.

NMS Director General Mohammed Badi stated that he will discuss the situation with Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai.
“Some boda bodas had been impounded, I shall consult with IG and ensure they get released before elections,” he said.
