Having Trouble with New Year’s Resolutions? Worry No More

A famous meme says that there is no need to form new resolutions as we can carry forward resolutions made in the previous year, that were made in the year before that, and so on.

Having Trouble with New Year’s Resolutions? Worry No More

At times we feel like so especially if the previous year was hard enough, don’t we? However, it is always important to have a fresh perspective with every new season. And this new year is a new season needing a fresh perspective from you and me.
Here are 5 resolutions you might consider this new year:
1. Maintain a heart of gratitude
Gratitude requires us to be thankful for both big and small things. Ever think of being grateful that when you tripped you didn’t fall and hurt yourself? Yes, I mean that level of thankfulness. Life becomes a lot easier when we are grateful.
2. Protect your financial health
When your pockets are doing badly, even your moods take a swing for the worse. Protecting your financial health begins with simple acts like budgeting and tracking where your every shilling goes to. It helps you to appreciate the value of every coin. Respect your money and it will respect you back.
3. Take care of your mental health
Get yourself a journal to jot down what’s on your mind, and what you can’t share with others. While at it, make a habit of writing down every day at least 5 things you are grateful for. Lastly, exercise and let those endorphins improve your mood for you.
4. Plan to take a trip this year
Travel opens your mind to new ideas. It helps you get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine. It’s an excellent way to reflect and reorganize your life. A trip doesn’t have to break your pockets, just find something within your budget.

5. Read a book per month
No matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self-chosen ignorance.” — Confucius
