He Who Is Compassionate

If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land (2nd Chronicles 7:14) For He's our living Father. He'll be there for us till we reach home. He loves us most when we feel filthy and undeserving.

When a nation is guided through evil ways and ungodly people, her children perish. Every storm that comes sweeps them away. Every time they go into war, they lose to their opponents and they are slain like chickens because they are powerless. They seek their power from the worldly things that last just but for a little while  and when their powers are over, they stagger and fall since their feeble feet can carry them no more

Many a time when the Israelites would turn to God after a defeat by their enemies, He would hear them and give them a judge who would then lead them unto war and victory would be upon them. When this judge's time would be over, they'd go back to worshipping their idols, and over again their enemies would defeat them in the war. After defeats and losing their people in the fields, they would again run back to God and He would still be patient and merciful unto them and He would forgive them their sins just yet again and give them a judge who would bring victory back home

Of late we're being amazed by the current happenings and we watch the news with mouth agape because of the evils that live within and amongst us. Relatives slaughtering their own and not being afraid of the bloodstains. I mean, 90% of news is blood. People live like they are children of a lesser God or non at all. Look at nations against nations. Sometimes we see images that make us question the humanity in us. When did it fly outside the window? The pandemic is still here with us, claiming lives like they are its own each day. Lost jobs, family members, friends, and loved ones. Love has turned into a war zone and we don't hold on to the promises we first made.

We kill not just physically but emotionally too. What we once thought was safe and comforting has turned out to be the scariest thing to touch. We hide in the Church with beautiful covering clothes with "I am saved and I love the Lord" but do we really love Him or we are just going to see who wore the best dress, how did Pastor and his wife dress today, meet our boyfriends and bla bla bla? My Mum says always say in luo, "timbe wa ogath to pod wanyonore Mana ni nyak wadhi e Kanisa. Wachal jok ma kow jamni modho to wan be riyo oewwa tok wamodh pi." (Our ways are so evil but we still insist on going to church. We are like the shepherds who take the flock to drink water but come back without tasting the waters yet we are thirsty too)

Could it be that God is communicating something to us that it's time that we turned away from our evil ways so we may be forgiven and we may be saved just one more time?

I could talk and talk and talk, but let me leave it at that, my soul is weeping.
