Health CS Kagwe Maintains He Will Only Get Covid-19 Jab When Time Falls Due
Various leaders have volunteered to get the vaccine in an effort to assure the public about the vaccine's safety. Health Ministry Director-General Dr. Amoth for instance was the pioneer recipient when the exercise was launched.
Health Ministry Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has stated that will only be vaccinated against Covid-19 when his turn comes.
Speaking in a recent interview, the CS noted that he is currently in dilemma on taking or not taking the vaccine. "If I take it before I will be accused of jumping the queue, if I do not take it, I will be accused of not leading by example," stated Kagwe.
He added that although he was not quite on which way to go at the moment, he will be forced to wait until the medics advise otherwise.
Kagwe added that the biggest mistake he could ever attempt was rushing to get the vaccine, only to have another medic missing it.
In a recently launched vaccine drive, medics have been given the first priority since they are considered to be at a higher infection risk owing to their frequent interaction with patients.
