The girl had been accused of stealing Ksh 2,500 pocket money from a fellow student and she also admitted to stealing the money.

"The deceased admitted that she stole the said money and had kept it in the dormitory."

She committed the act when she was sent to go find the money she was accused of stealing.

The Tala police station received a report of the incident at around 3.40 pm on Wednesday.

Evans Mose, the deputy sub-county police commander for Matungulu, reported that the body was discovered hanging from rafts of a toilet at a local school.

He claimed that the girl had been suspected of stealing the money by a number of the other student.

"She was adversely mentioned as a suspect by the majority of her colleagues when the matter was being investigated," Mose said.

The Matungulu police commander said that the teacher had instructed the kid to find the money she had hidden during break time and hand it over to the school's administration.

The girl was given the dormitory keys to go bring the money she had allegedly stolen but she never showed up.

This prompted the deputy principal to search for her and that is when her lifeless body was found dangling from the toilet's roof inside the dormitory building.

The police transported the body to Kangundo level 4 hospital mortuary for postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
