Police in Makueni county are investigating an incident where a trailer killed a secondary school student.

The trailer struck and killed a Form Two student from Kiseuni Secondary School on Thursday in Nthangathini, Miangeni sub-location.

The boy reportedly showed up for a class in the morning but left shortly after because he was not feeling well.

According to the school's principal, the boy was escorted out of the school and transported home.

He got dressed and left school, but tragedy struck when the trailer struck him.

There were three people inside the trailer, including the driver and they reported the incident to the Kaewa police station.

Police officers visited the scene to accident and transported the body of the deceased to the Mbaku Funeral Home.

The trailer was removed from the scene while an investigation to the matter is being conducted.

Three persons died and three others were injured in a traffic collision that occurred along Namanga Road near Ilbisil Town, Kajiado County, on Wednesday night.

The police report states that a salon automobile approached a police traffic stop at a high rate of speed, past five vehicles that were waiting to be examined, then struck a lorry and went off the road, instantly killing two of its occupants.

Oloilai Police Commander Joseph Mutiria confirmed the incident stating that excessive speeding was to blame and urged drivers to follow traffic laws to prevent similar incidents.

The bodies were sent to the mortuary at Kajiado Level Five Hospital while the salon car's mangled remains were towed to Ilbisil Police Station.
