Speaking in Nairobi, Magoha has said that a computerized approach was used to select and assign kids in secondary schools.

Parents and candidates who took the 2021 KCPE can check their results remotely through SMS or on the Ministry of Education website, according to CS Magoha.

Candidates must send simply their index number to 22263 for SMS options. They can also check the outcomes of their choices on the website www.education.go.ke

Schools can also utilize the National Education Management Information System Nemis site to see a complete list of their Form One candidates.

According to the CS, the 2021 KCPE Candidates were assigned to 38,797 national schools, 214,960 extra county schools, 258,456 county schools, 726,311 sub-county schools, and 2,045 special needs schools.

Magoha expressed concern that a lot of KCPE candidates were having difficulty choosing schools, claiming that they had not gotten adequate assistance on the subject. He urged parents and teachers to get involved and help them out.

On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, Form One students will be required to report to school. Students will be required to physically report to their schools, with principals being instructed not to admit students via the Nemis portal unless the same condition is met.

On the government’s policy on 100% transition the CS has said that the ministry of Education will work hand in hand with the ministry of interior to ensure all the candidates report to their respective schools.

On the issue of bursaries, the CS has said that the ministry will consider children from needy backgrounds and those in Boarding schools since government is already paying for the day-schoolers.
