How To Prepare Moist Homemade Orange Chocolate Marble Cake

Here is how to prepare fresh and moist orange chocolate marble cake at home.

Ingredients

cups of all-purpose flour

cups of granulated sugar

½ a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice

1 tablespoon orange zest

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 teaspoons of melted unsweetened chocolate

1/3 cup of cooking oil

¼ cup of melted margarine

½ cup of buttermilk/ plain yogurt

2 large eggs

¼ teaspoon of salt

¼ teaspoon of baking soda

2 teaspoons of baking powder

Procedure

Preheat the oven to 175C and butter the baking tin.

In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, add sugar, mix, and place it aside.

Whisk the eggs with the buttermilk, orange juice and zest, melted butter, oil, and vanilla in a separate bowl.

Add all the wet ingredients into the first large bowl with dry ingredients and stir with a hand whisk or a silicone spatula until it is well combined.

Pour the batter into two separate bowls and fold the melted chocolate into one of the two mixtures.

Pour the orange and chocolate mixtures alternately into the baking tin to allow them to form layers on top of each other.

Insert a knife into the cake batter all the way down, and start swirling the batter gently enough not to let the whole batter get the chocolate color.

Place the baking tin with cake batter in the prepared oven and bake for about 45-55 minutes.

Insert a toothpick at the center of the cake; if it comes out, clean the cake is all done.

Let the cake cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack, then take it out from the pan and let it cool completely.

Serve your cake with a beverage of choice.
