“I Have Met Oparanya 5 Times Discussing Politics,” Says DP Ruto

In an interview on Thursday evening by Citizen TV’s Linus Kaikai, DP Ruto said his talks with governor Oparanya had nothing to do with ODM leader Raila Odinga joining hands with him.

DP Ruto denied the claims that he has been in communication with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as it has been touted in the media reports and political conversations lately.

“I have met Wycliffe Oparanya not once. I have met with him probably five times, and of course, more times when he was Council of Governors, chairman. But I have met him to discuss politics five-time,” said Ruto.

Ruto said at no time have they discussed him being sent by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“We have discussed with him how we can work together and how he appreciates the Hustler narrative and the bottom-up approach,” the DP said.

The second in command further said there are many leaders’ governors, CSs, and PSs he has been meeting in private to talk more about the politics of the country.

“Because of the nature of the politics that if you are seen with William Ruto, the DCI will be on your case, many of them prefer that we have these meetings in private,” he said.

Ruto dismissed the claims of working together with Raila Odinga as he sees him as the only formidable competitor.
