According to the ruling by the International Criminal Court (ICC), Dominic the 45-year-old ex-rebel willingly brought tremendous suffering upon his victims, who included defenseless children and women.

The ICC presiding Judge Bertram Schmitt found that although the convict was forced into the militia group as a child, he later committed heinous crimes as an adult, including raping his victims, Raidió Teilifís Éireann reported.

Dominic was abducted and inducted into the rebel group while still very young at the age of nine and grew through the ranks to become one of its prominent faces.

The ICC court found him guilty of 61 charges relating to crimes of murder, widespread rape, and sexual enslavement, abducting children, torture, and pillaging carried out in the early 2000s.
