The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced Job vacancies in the marsh-up to the August general elections. Here is how to apply for the positions.

The IEBC is looking for 47 Deputy County Returning Officers, 47 County Voter Educators, and 290 Constituency Voter Educators.

Presiding officers (52,481), polling clerks/counting clerks (302,860), ICT clerks (580), and deputy constituency returning officers are among the other posts to be filled (290).

"The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) invites qualified applicants for the following temporary positions to be engaged during the August 9 2022 General Election.”

This is how to apply. 

Those interested in the positions can apply by going to the IEBC job portal and filling out an application. Working location, personal information, and academic qualifications are all necessary.

"Applicants who strictly meet the requirements should apply online at the IEBC jobs portal,” read the statement by the IEBC.

The IEBC also stated that the portal will close on May 5, and that interested applicants should submit their applications as soon as possible.

Following an assessment of the applications, the electoral body will contact the successful applicants.

The commission also revealed the reward rates for successful applicants. Presiding Officers will be paid Ksh2000 per day, Deputy Presiding Officers will be paid Ksh1800, and voting clerks will be paid Ksh1000.

The IEBC's declaration comes just days after IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati announced that over 300,000 Kenyans would be hired on a temporary basis to oversee the August 9 elections.
