India Records 412,262 New Covid-19 Cases and 3980 Deaths in the last 24 Hours
On Thursday India recorded 412,262 new Covid-19 cases, therefore, becoming a new single-day record, according to a CNN tally compiled from figures released by the India Ministry of Heath.

According to the statistics released by the India Ministry of Health, the country has identified 21,077,410 cases of Covid-19.
India also recorded 3,980 people to have succumbed to Covid-19 related deaths on Thursday, another new single-day record, therefore, becoming the ninth consecutive day that the number of fatalities identified in a 24-hour period exceeded 3,000.
The total number of deaths recorded in India now stands at 230,168.
India is currently in the middle of a severe second wave of covid-19 where in the past one month, the country recorded 8.3 million cases.
Since April 22nd, more than 300,000 cases have been added every day.
Hospitals and crematoriums are now flooded with India facing a huge challenge in the availability of medical oxygen.
However, experts now feel the cases in India are underreported since people in rural areas and slums are not tested.
