          Who is George Wajakoyah

Wajakoya was born in Western Kenya in 1961.

His parents later divorced when he was 16 years. After being abandoned by his own parents, he decided to move to Nairobi  Jogoo Road and joined the street boys fraternity at a tender age since it was the only way he could survive.

“Life became unbearable… We would be beaten by police and city council askari,” the law scholar stated. 

While he was on the streets of Nairobi he met his luck through an accident after he was hit by an overspeeding car.

He was later spotted by the then powerful politician J.J Kamotho who paid for his education fees.

Education Life

Wajakoyah joined high school at St Peter's Mumias Boys High school for his A-levels. Upon completion of his secondary studies, he joined the Kenya Police academy and rose to the rank of an inspector with the CID.

However tables were turned after the late Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Robert Ouko was killed on February 12, 1990, Wajackoyah as an Inspector, was placed in charge of collecting intelligence on suspected killers until his professional inquisitiveness placed him in danger. He was detained and severely tortured.

After some Americans helped him get out of custody and flew him out of the country to the UK, he began his life in exile.

He devoted his time to studying law and funded his tuition by digging graves, claiming that his eyes were always red from labor and study alone.


Prof Wajackoyah moved to the United States from the United Kingdom, where he spoke widely on Law and Economics, Human Rights, Comparative Constitutional, and International Law around the country.

He later got a job in the US as a Law & Economics lecturer, at the University of Baltimore he got his fourth-degree LLM.


He got his fifth-degree in Philosophy at Walden University, after which he did the sixth degree as a Masters's in Philosophy at the same University and then did his seventh degree a Ph.D. in Law at the same university.

He returned to Kenya where he did his eighth degree, an LLB at Riara University then joined KSL for a Diploma in Law in order to become an advocate in Kenya.


 He joined UoN for his ninth degree and LLM in Immigration Laws while doing his tenth degree, a Ph.D. in Comparative Laws at Maastricht University.


 On top of his 10 degrees, the man has an honorary doctorate degree and over 8 diplomas ranging from Intelligence studies, Advanced Diploma in French, Litigation Law, and African and Oriental Studies.


He is a professor of law at The American Heritage University in San Bernardino, Southern California, and California State Sacrament University, as well as a consultant for UoN and Riara Law School, in addition to maintaining his prominent law business Luchiri&Co.

He is admitted to practice law in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Kenya.

Political Life

Wajakoyah is eying Kenya's presidential position with an intention of unseating current president Uhuru Kenyatta.

He is willing to vie on the Roots Party ticket.

On June 13th he appointed Kenya's popular comedian Jaymo Yule msee as his official spokesperson and the head of media.

The big announcement was made on Saturday 12th June by the roots party aspirant.

Jaymo will be responsible for coordinating the party's media engagements.

"Jaymo Ule Msee has vast experience in media, digital marketing, and political campaign strategy. Further, he holds a degree in political science and economics from the University of Nairobi,” read the statement.

“His experience and credentials are an asset to Roots Party as he is aligned to the ideology of Roots Party and Kenya at large and fully supports the Roots Party presidential candidate together with the running mate,” 

Professor George Wajackoyah and the secretary-general, Adam Kadernani, both voiced trust in Mr. Muirani's abilities, noting that he has prior media experience.

Jaymo on the other hand expressed his gratitude for the appointment.

“It is with utmost humility that I accept the appointment as the Roots Party spokesperson and Head of Media. I truly thank Prof Wajackoyah, our running mate Justina Wamae and our party officials for having faith in me to serve in our party to ensure we get a resounding victory on August 9. It’s time for our generation to make the right choices,” he said.

George Wajakoyah is eyeing the presidential seat ahead of the August 9th general elections.

 The high competitive post has attracted the attention of different leaders including the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, and the United Democratic Alliance Party leader William Ruto amongst others.
