Jesse Lingard strike downs Hammers
Manchester United's Jesse Lingard celebrates his winner with Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United secured a hard fought 2-1 victory over West Ham today evening  with a Jesse Lingard wonder strike in the 88th min being the decider.

The home team took the lead in the 30th min thanks to a Saïd Benrahma strike that took a deflection and left United Shot stopper David De Gea flat footed.

Deficit was nullified moments later when Cristiano Ronaldo scored for the 3rd consecutive game, slotting it home from close range after a second attempt.

Ronaldo forced 2 more saves from Hammers keeper Fabiański while Soucek was denied by de Gea.

Oles substitution paid off as Jesse Lngard who came on for French midfielder Paul Pogba would steal points for the visitors. Lingard who last season was at the Hammers to rekindle his career unleashed a shot from outside the box.

Mark Noble who was brought in to slot the penalty awarded to the Hammers watched his spot-kick saved by De Gea after Luke Shaw manhandled the ball in the six-yard area.

The result extends United's unbeaten away run to 29 matches and are levelled with 1st place Liverpool as West Ham having suffered their first loss of the season are in 8th place with 8 points.
