The 23-year-old was arrested yesterday and was scheduled to be arraigned before a Thika Law Court.

The victim, Arnold Otieno, 21, who was a telecommunication engineering student is said to have been struck on the head that fatal night by the other student before collapsing and passing away.

According to Phyllis Muthoni, head of the Juja Sub-county police., the suspect hid the body under the bed and covered it with a bed sheet.

“After we got the report on Monday at around 8 pm, we visited the scene and found the suspect in the same room, living with the body of the deceased,” Muthoni said.

The suspect then admitted to killing his fellow student, telling the police what had transpired.

He said that the victim had returned to the room inebriated and unruly which led to a heated argument that resulted in the victim's death.

The suspect was taken into custody and is currently being investigated by authorities at Juja police station.
