JOBS: Finance Officer- Casual at Feed the Children
Feed the Children is an international, non-profit relief organization that was founded in 1979 with headquarters in Oklahoma City, United States of America. In Kenya, Feed the Children was registered in 1993 under the Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board Act.
Key responsibilities:
- Posting transactions into QuickBooks systems.
- Track expenditure for multiple programs and income from multiple domestic and international sources.
- Contribute to preparing the annual program budgets and tracking budgets based on expenditure throughout the year.
- Keep accurate inventories of various items including consumables, pharmaceuticals, linens, etc
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure responsible financial practices.
- Coordinate and manage accounts payable & receivable
- Monitor and manage cash donations, Cash books, and other accounting entries.
- Summarizing, recording, and filing financial source documents.
- Assist teams in audit procedures as and when needed.
- Responsible for handling statutory payments including KRA- (VAT, WHT), NSSF NHIF, HELB
- Assist in preparation of payroll
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and donor use.
- Carry out tasks on the online banking platform.
- Assist other department managers with month-end quality control on financial and accounting practices and reporting.
- Plus, any other duties may be assigned by management.
Minimum specifications
- Post-high-school training in accounting up to CPA section 4 qualification
- The Bachelor of Commerce Finance option will be an added advantage
- Excellent proficiency in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel
- International NGO accounting experience for at least 3 years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and hard-working, with high ethical standards.
- Highly motivated, energetic, analytical, and able to work independently.
