Currently, the Bank is seeking additional talent to serve in the role outlined below.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs and cascades the Bank’s Employee Relations Strategy and frameworks
  • Leads and facilitates employee relations programs and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains, develops, recommends, and implements program objectives, policies, and procedures in employee relations and wellness.
  • Stewards the Bank’s Grievance Handling Procedure and acts as an internal consultant on the bank’s Disciplinary Handling Process.
  • Monitors external trends and guides management on continuous improvements to mitigate ER risks.
  • Advises on and supports initiates for improved employee engagement and experience.
  • Works with the Governance, Risk, and HR Departments to reinforce the culture of compliance with the Bank’s Code of Conduct, Rules, and regulations.
  • Supports Management in coordinating staff consultative moments and engagement on terms and conditions of service.
  • Develops and pursues new goals and objectives for improvement in areas of employee relations.
  • Communicates with employees regarding employee relations concerns; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues.
  • Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances.
  • Collaborates with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employees.
  • Identify and drive philosophies and programs to foster constructive employee relations and ensure the organization's approach to its employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s University degree or its equivalent and relevant professional qualification in Human Resources Management.
  • Eight years of professional exposure in an HR department, with at least 4 years as Head of Employee Relations
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of ERP HR Information systems,
  • Member of IHRM and/or a similar renowned HR professional body.

  • Proven experience in demonstrating high levels of reliability and professional conduct
  • Skills in exercising initiative, sound judgment, discretion, decision making, and organizational skills to achieve assigned goals
  • Must be articulate, have strong oral and written communication skills, and have a professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and trust
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Able to interact and develop relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, follow up, and organizational skills
