JOBS: Software Quality Assurance Analyst at KCB Bank Kenya

The Position:

The role holder will write & use frameworks and tools to test software products. The role requires understanding software internals for Whitebox testing, debug code, automating repetitive tasks, and implementing new tools and frameworks needed to streamline the KCB software quality process through review of technical designs, implementation of automated test tools that help deliver quality features with efficiency through the understanding of customer usage models, development of test plans and test cases and scenarios with a focus on development, maintenance, and enhancement of the test automation framework and automation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review documented user needs/requirements and designs software testing artifacts.
  2. Prepare test strategy documentation and see them through the various levels of approvals.
  3. Provide timely and detailed periodic progress reports on Test executions.
  4. Architect, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts
  5. Utilize tools such as code coverage tools to assess the coverage of test suites and make recommendations for additional test cases.
  6. Design and build scalable automated test frameworks and test suites working across technologies.
  7. Test existing applications, identify deficiencies, and offer solutions.
  8. Conduct research on emerging application development technologies, languages, and standards and define the most suited automated testing techniques to apply/implement.
  9. Find and correct errors through a systematic program of testing conventions.
  10. Review specifications and develop testing programs and prepare test data fit for adopted testing approach.
  11. Collaborate on the planning and execution of performance testing on systems under implementation.
  12. Test reusable pipeline code within the CI/CD framework.
  13. Perform deployments on Test environments, troubleshoot issues on test environments, and collaborate with software developers on resolving the identified problems.
  14. Management of Test environment and ensuring that the environments are always available and in a usable state.

The Person:

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  2. Certification in ISTQB `or ISTQB Agile Tester or Certified Test Engineer (CSTE) or Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) or Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ).
  3. 3 years experience in Software Development.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
