Joho Graciously Accepts His Italian Wife's Divorce Request

The Mombasa Governor finally granted his first wife's wishes and agreed to the marriage termination.

The outgoing Governor didn't fight his estranged wife's divorce petition and seemed to have accepted their new exes status.

Madina Fazzini, half Italian and half Somali, filed the divorce papers on 26th January 2022 at the Mombasa Kadhi's court via Aziz M Ngare Advocates. The petition claimed an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.

Details of the Case 

In the court documents filed, Madina told the Kadhi's court they had separated in 2013. She further claimed that they had little to no chance of resurrecting the marriage after living apart for 9 years.

Governor Joho and Madina married around February 2011. The couple has two kids, aged eight and nine.

Part of the court document reads, "I am clear and unequivocal that our marriage has broken down irretrievably with no chance of revival, given we have both moved on over the years."

Madina claims that after they separated, Governor 001 left their matrimonial home in Mombasa, leaving their two children in her care. In September 2020, Madina and the kids finally left the matrimonial home as well and they've been living on their own ever since.

Fazzini said, "Since the respondent, Joho moved out of our matrimonial home in June 2013, the substance of our marriage has dissipated and has no basis to be sustained from a legal and social standpoint."

Madina is the second wife to terminate a marriage with the flamboyant Governor of Mombasa. His first wife also successfully terminated their marriage a while back. However, his third wife is still currently with him and lives in the UK.
