A Nairobi court on Monday 26th July barred all journalists from Covering Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka`s Child upkeep case.

According to Lawyer Danstan Omari has obtained gag orders against all media houses barring them from covering the case.
On the other hand, Nairobi Resident Magistrate F. Terer accepted the lawyer’s application to blocked all the media houses print and electronic from covering the case.
"That a gag order is hereby issued to any print or electronic mass media in Kenya from accessing, publishing, airing, narrating or commenting the case in any newspaper, journal, weekly magazine and TV or radio show," Read the gag order.


Speaker Lusaka was sued by a woman identified as Irene Mutaki, who moved to court to compel Lusaka to accept responsibility for their alleged unborn child.

The woman's lawyer, Danstan Omari confirmed that the two had been involved in an intimate relationship since 2018 up until about two months ago after the had a disagreement on the child since Lusaka advised her to terminate the pregnancy.
"The cause of their disagreement was exacerbated by Lusaka's insistence on terminating the pregnancy, a proposal that the applicant declined to accede to and now she is three months pregnant and counting since she discovered that she was expectant of Lusaka's child as she has not been intimating with any other man other than the respondent, a fact that can be confirmed through a prenatal paternity test," reads court papers.
