Jubilee Party Ordered to Reinstate Expelled Senators by the court

The tribunal had earlier ruled out the decision by the ruling Jubilee Party to expel six senators pending the hearing and determination of a case filed in court by the senators.

Chairperson Desma Nungo further directed the Registrar of Political Parties not to remove the names of the senators from the membership of the Jubilee Party.

Further, the court directed the Jubilee party to pay all the five senators the cost of application for wrongful expulsion from the party.

In an interview, lawyer Hillary Sigei representing the senators allegedly expelled from Jubilee said he will file a demand to the jubilee party to pay over Sh 2Million for each senator as a cost for the suit.

Jubilee Sec-Gen Raphael Tuju had announced the expulsions of the six senators in February 2021 hours after Deputy President William Ruto met more than 100 Tanagatanga MPs at his Karen residence.
