The incident has sparked numerous reactions from Kenyans on social media platforms with many blaming the master of ceremony for ignoring the late President Kibaki's former vice president.

Kalonzo was only acknowledged by Deputy President William Ruto who motioned for him to stand and wave to the crowd.

Kalonzo is now pleading with Kenyans to let Mzee Mwai Kibaki rest in peace and put an end to the debate over why he was denied the opportunity to eulogize his former boss during his final send-off at both Nyayo Stadium and his home in Othaya.

He accepted that it was within the family's jurisdiction to know who was supposed to eulogize at the late Kibaki's funeral and let him rest in eternal peace rather than arguing in trivial debates.

Kalonzo also claims he had the opportunity to serve as the late Kibaki's principal assistant and that was enough and Kenyans are aware of what they were able to accomplish as a team over the course of five years which they served in office.

Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, Anthony Muheria, had previously revealed that the late President Mwai Kibaki's family did not want political speeches at the funeral service held at Nyayo stadium, denying Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka the opportunity to speak.
