Kenya Kwanza leaders: Time is Ripe for Uhuru & Raila Odinga to go Home

The leaders led by deputy president William Ruto and Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi urged Kenyans to prepare to take their political nemesis home for what they describe as ignoring their plight and instead subjecting them to a 'baseless' constitutional reforms process.

In a press statement read by Mudavadi, the Kenya Kwanza leaders took issue with President Uhuru and Odinga for allegedly disenfranchising the dignity of Kenyans at a time when they have been grappling with economic hardships some of which have been blamed on Covid-19.

While applauding the judiciary for stopping the two from amending the constitution through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), the leaders vowed to actualize Article 173 of the constitution that orders the government to establish a fund known as the Judiciary Fund for administration by the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.

The fund, according to Section Two of the Article shall be used for administrative expenses of the Judiciary and such other purposes as may be necessary for the discharge of the functions of the Judiciary.

“We applaud the judiciary for standing together with the people in their commitment to generously guard and defend the sanctity of the constitution. We reaffirm our resolve to actualize Article 173 of the constitution on the judiciary fund,” Mudavadi said in the statement.

They upheld that Kenyans are not ready to overthrow the constitution but persons who pervert it.

“We are thereby reminded that it is apparent that the people are the rightful masters of the course not to overthrow a constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the constitution. Time is ripe for Kenyans to send the handshake brothers home come August 9,” Mudavadi added.

Following the death of BBI whose last nail was hit yesterday after the process was declared unconstitutional, the Kenya Kwanza team vowed to treat Kenyans with economic revival melodies to enable them to put money in their pockets.

“A time for Kenyans to be serenaded with the tunes of changing the economy, to make Kenya a safe haven for all, a just society and one that each Kenyan has their dignity intact and takes pride in it. We in Kenya Kwanza are committed to leading Kenyans to dance to the new tunes, to ensure that each Kenyan has their dignity intact. This can be realized through the blueprint that does not neglect the downtrodden and ensures all Kenyans have money in their pockets,” he added.
