Kenya Railways Issues Eviction Notice to Residences Along Voi - Taita Taveta Regions
Residences residing along the Voi - Taita Taveta regions might face forceful evictions failure to vacate the areas within the slated period of 14 days.
This follows a notice by the Kenya railways authority dated Friday 17th June which stated that residents who have encroached on its land within Voi and Taita Taveta areas had only 14 days to leave the places.
"We wish to bring to the attention of all members of the public that the corporation intends to rehabilitate the 127 km of Voi - Taita Taveta MGR Line," their notice reads in part.

According to Kenya Railways, the eviction will be done in a bid to give way for the planned revitalization of the 127km Railway line.
"Two weeks (14 days) notice is hereby issued to all unauthorized persons who have encroached are living on and or operating along Voi - Taita Taveta MGR Line corridor to voluntarily vacate immediately or face forceful eviction upon expiry of this notice in order to give way for the planned revitalization exercise," the statement added.
