Kiraitu Murungi Assures ODM Leader Raila Odinga of Mt. Kenya Support
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s presidential aspirations have received a major boost after being endorsed by a section of Meru and North Eastern politicians.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader’s quest to conquer the vote-rich Mt Kenya region has been elusive over the years.
However, on Thursday, September 2, the former Prime minister met a section of Meru politicians at a city hotel who endorsed his 2022 presidential bid.
Led by Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi, the politicians and business leaders assured ODM Leader Raila Odinga that they would be on the frontline in campaigning for his support in the region.
''If there are problems, it is our duty to solve them. I know you are never afraid of a struggle, you have struggled before, and we can open a new front of the struggle even now,'' Kiraitu said.
The Meru County Boss said a group was committed to eliminating all obstacles that threaten Raila's support in the Mt. Kenya region.
''Those demons you planted, the crocodiles you put in the rivers, we are going to remove them so that you can take people to Canaan,'' Kiraitu added.
The meeting was also attended by National Assembly's Deputy Majority Whip Maoka Maore, former assistant minister Kilemi Mwiria and Nairobi deputy governor Anne Kananu.
