KNEC Announces Positions For KCSE/KCPE Examiners Training

On August 16, 2022, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced the application of examiner positions for qualified teachers interested in the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examiner training programs.

Teachers in primary and secondary schools who are interested in serving as examiners for the upcoming national exams are now invited to apply for the positions.

The training is scheduled to begin on September 18, 2022, and last for six days until September 24, 2022, on Saturday.

Application Requirements

One must have a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number.

Be an active teacher in the necessary subject areas.

A diploma in education or higher for KCSE grading, as well as a minimum score of P1 on the KCPE test and a minimum grade of C (plain) on the KCSE in the subject they are applying to train in.

A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, be under 50 years old and be free of any TSC disciplinary actions.

All candidates who have been shortlisted must pay a training cost of Ksh10,500.

How to apply

The applicants are required to use a link to access the KNEC examiners' site.

Users with CP2 accounts should enter their usernames and passwords to access the portal while those without CP2 accounts should click on create an account and follow the instructions to obtain login credentials to access the system.

Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click the reset password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging into the system.

The applicants are required to finish and save their personal profile after successfully logging in.

The applicants should select the "apply for training" button on the dashboard so that they can select from all of the declared openings.

The KCSE has been planned to take place from December 1 to December 23 while the KCPE will be administered from November 28 to December 1. The marking procedure will start on January 2, 2023, to January 20, 2023.
