The Kenya Airways board Chair Michael Joseph recently broke silence over a recent joke by the prominent legal expert Ahmednasir, who had offered to purchase a plane from the firm, owing to its continued losses.

In an interview, Michael stated that he highly welcome the decision by Ahmednasir alias Grand Mulla.

Joseph confessed how Ahmednasir will not even manage to take care of the expenses required to fly the plane, leave alone buying it. The prominent lawyer is known for his prestigious living, enviable by many.

His valuables include a Bentley Bentayga valued at Ksh40 million, a Landrover Discovery estimated at around Ksh3.8 million, a Porsche valued at Ksh4.8 million, and also a Toyota Landcruiser fetching around Ksh6.9 million.

The Senior Counsel had recently joked about purchasing one of the KQ's aircraft after the courier company posted a historic Ksh36.2 billion loss for the 2020 Fiscal year.

"KQ made a loss of Ksh36 billion. Can I purchase one of their Embraer 190? I'm sure it's cheaper than a Bentley Bentayga," bragged lawyer Ahmednasir.

Michael Joseph stated that the company may need 3 to 4 years to recover from the devastating losses occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2020, KQ got a Ksh10 billion bailout from the government, in efforts to keep operating.
