Kwale County Assembly has halted its operations after five Members of County Assembly (MCAs) tested positive for Covid-19 Virus.

In a statement by County Speaker Sammy Ruwa, the County Assembly has been closed to allow fumigation exercise and other coronavirus protocols to be effected.

Kwale becomes the latest county Assembly to halt its operations in fear of the third wave which has currently hit the country.

The five affected Members of County Assembly (MCAs) are currently under self-isolation in their homes to avoid further spreading of the virus.

In another instance, the Judiciary was forced to close Law Courts in Thika and Milimani Family Division Law Court after staffs tested positive to Covid-19.

On Sunday Kenya recorded 431 positive cases from a sample size of 4627 people, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 113,236.

Kenyans are therefore urged to adhere to the ministry of Health guidelines and measures in order to reduce further spreading of the virus.
