The KWF inspector was reported missing last year, in August, in Uyoma, Siaya County. His body was earlier found dumped in the river, and 25 others; some have already been identified, while some remain unidentified.

Oyaro went missing on August 28 while traveling from Marsabit to Nairobi in a KWS vehicle.

The DNA results came in on Thursday Morning to confirm Francis Oyaro’s body after the collected sample matched his mother’s.

When the body was retrieved from the river, it had decomposed beyond recognition, making it difficult for his family members to identify him after they visited the Yala Sub-County morgue for that sole purpose.

This brings the number of the positively identified bodies to 12; 14 more bodies are thus yet to be determined.

It has been rumored that River Yala was the dumping site for a series of unlawful murders in the countryside.

John Oyaro, the KWS inspector’s brother, is in the front row of those demanding the government to hasten the efforts in discovering what led to the series of murders and dumping of over 20 bodies in the Yala River.
