Late Tycoon Tob Cohen`s Sister Wants Sarah Cohen to Drop Family Name
Gabriel Van Straten sister to late Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen now wants widow Sarah Wairimu Kamotho Cohen to drop their family name Cohen stating that Wairimu did not take her brother's name during their marriage.
In addition, Gabriel Van Straten wants an application that was filed by Sarah using Tob Cohen`s surname to be dismissed by the court.
Ms. Straten through popular lawyer Danstan Omari claimed that the name Sarah Wairimu Cohen does not exist and is such a fictitious person.
“The applications filed before this Court as far and to the extent that they have been filed by one Sarah Wairimu Kamotho Cohen are incompetent and untenable in the eyes of the law for having been filed by a fictitious person and a person unknown to the law and us,” court documents read.
On the other hand, Van Straten added that during Miss Wairimu’s marriage to her brother Cohen, she never took any of Cohen’s names and never went through the legal process of changing her name through a deed poll.
“Thus, the reference of herself as Sarah Wairimu Kamotho Cohen in the various applications filed before the court is meant to confuse the court by obscuring the mind of the court and seeking unnecessary sympathy or empathetic treatment from the court,” Gabriel adds.
The late business tycoon and Dutch National Cohen went missing on July 19 2019 from his Lower Kabete Nairobi home.
