LSK Threatens To Move to Court Over Disappearance of Prof. Nandwa
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has threatened to move to court over the alleged disappearance of lawyer and scholar Prof. Hassan Nandwa.

Nadwa, who was representing Elgiva Bwire, disappeared mysteriously last Thursday.
The society has given police 24 hours to release the lawyer together with his client, whom they allege went missing last Thursday.
“We demand his immediate release together with his client Mr. Elgiva Bwire and in any event not later than 24 hours failure to which, the Law Society of Kenya will file applications for habeas corpus without any further notice,” reads the Tuesday press release.
Through its CEO Mercy Wambua, LSK says that it is gravely saddened by occurrences of the past months that have witnessed a brazen threat to the Bill of Rights marked by the alarming spike in mysterious disappearances of several advocates as well as heinous and brutal murders of members of the public.
Wambua says that Prof. Nandwa was abducted in the course of his professional work.
“It is reported that Professor and his client went missing on Thursday, October 28 under mysterious circumstances,” says Wambua.
LSK adds that the police are yet to provide information on the status of any ongoing investigations if any, or on the whereabouts of Professor and his client, more than three days since their mysterious disappearances.
“In light of the above, and in line with its mandate, the Law Society of Kenya demands that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the Independent Policing Authority expedite the investigations into this matter and indeed all others similar matters to identify the evil perpetrators who must then be apprehended, arraigned in court and prosecuted accordingly,” the statement further states.
