Man Arrested In Nyandarua For Allegedly Killing Wife And Setting Body On Fire

A man suspected of brutally killing his lover and setting her body on fire after moving it to a different location is currently being held by Nyandarua police.

A police report recorded that the accused is believed to have killed his lover at her home and then transported the body to his home in Pesi village, Ndaragua constituency.

The suspect then allegedly put the body on fire to destroy any evidence that would connect him to the crime.

“Analysis of the scenes indicate that the victim may have been murdered in her house and body moved to the secondary scene where the suspect burned it in an effort to destroy evidence,” read the police report.

Police were considering the situation as an abduction case until nearby locals alerted authorities that they had seen the deceased’s car at the suspect’s home.

According to Aberdare Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner Charles Rukwaro, the suspect was reportedly caught by police in Kasarani as he tried to escape.  He was not found at the scene of the crime when the police arrived.

Detectives were summoned to the scene and when they arrived, they discovered the victim's body was still burning and completely blackened.

The body of the victim was transported to Nyahururu Hospital in Laikipia County.
