Manchester City this afternoon hammered Arsenal 5-0 at Etihad stadium. The already wobbling Arsenal seem to be sinking deeper by day and the clock is ticking against Mikel Arteta. So far, the Gunners have played against two major clubs so far and maybe, there is an hope for them to revive their form with Aubameyang and Lacazette expected to feature in their next game.

The hosts started off with a bold statement seven minutes in play with Ilkay Gundogan opening the score, Ferran Torres extending the lead to 2 goals eight minutes later while Gabriel Jesus tripled the lead on the 43rd minute. Arsenal sunk deeper into the mad after Granite Xhaka received a red card on the 35th minute. The first half saw Manchester City dominate the game leaving the visitors with only 25% possession, single shot with no shot on target.

In the second half, the hopes for a comeback were thwarted after Hernandez score the four for Man city eight minutes into the second half. Ferran Torres scored a fifth six minutes to full time cementing a whooping 5-0 victory against the Gunners.

The Manchester City game could seal the fate of arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Arteta Who had served at Man City as an assistant coach to Pep Guardiola before picking the coaching job with the Gunners has had the worst starts for a season with the Gunners since 1954. Losing yet another game could be the last nail on the coffin as the fans have already started exhibiting lack of faith on the manager. The decision to retain or fire Mikel Arteta solely lies with the club management. The fans are expected to keep pushing for his dismissal.
