Man Sentenced To 40 years For Rape and Posting Pornographic Photographs
A Wajir County Chief has been slapped with a 40-year prison term for repeatedly raping an 18-year-old girl and posting nude pictures of her.

The chief allegedly coerced the girl to agree to an out-of-court settlement after performing the terrible deeds, according to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The accused was charged with raping the girl and posting pictures of her in underwears online.
“Chief Kalimoi Shale of Wajir was found guilty of raping an 18-year-old girl on multiple occasions and using his position to force her to accept an out-of-court settlement through Maslaha, a cultural conflict resolution model common in North Eastern Kenya,” read the stated the ODPP.
“The chief was also accused of circulating the victim’s nude photos on social media after she refused to accept his continuous abuse.”
The accused was also fined Ksh. 500,000, which he must pay as compensation to the victim.
The administrator received two 20-year prison terms: 20 years for rape and 20 years for improperly disseminating pornographic or private photographs.
According to the ODPP, the two sentences will be executed simultaneously.
