Timon Odingo, the chief of Makadara police, confirmed the occurrence and stated it took place in the South 'B' Mukuru-Mariguini slum in the Starehe sub-county.

Odingo stated that the suspect took himself to the Mariguini police station to file a report after killing his 93-year-old grandmother.

Odingo stated that the DCIO team led by area head Felix Kithuku confirmed the grandmother's death when they arrived at the scene of the incident.

Kithuku claimed that the court had given them permission to keep questioning the suspect for an additional few days and the suspect was in custody.

"The suspect is in police custody at the Industrial Area police station but we will charge him after completing the investigation," Kithuku added.

The deceased's body was discovered lying on the house's floor. The police confiscated a bloody knife from the area as evidence and took the deceased’s body to the City Mortuary.

Police claimed they do not know what led him to kill the victim. The suspect is said to have had a history of mental issues brought by drug abuse and was a boxer.
