Taking to her Twitter account, Omanga acknowledged the Kenya Kwanza government for making a bold move to expose how the Kenyan government had made a deal with the Chinese government in the SGR contract.

"Kenya Kwanza government is actually a savior to our country. We had lost it already," Omanga stated.

She also thanked the Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen for keeping the promise of exposing the deals behind the project after being hidden from Kenyans for several years.

"Thank you Road CS Kipchumba Murkomen," Millicent stated.

Taking to his Twitter account, the Transport CS, Murkomen shared the documents revealing that he had shared the extra copies with the majority leaders of both the Senate and the National Assembly and also the media.
According to the CS, the document is also set to be tabled before the parliament.
Since President Kenyatta promised on live television that the SGR contract would be made public in 2019, the government has been playing hide and seek with Kenyans, leaving the country in the dark about what it signed and what the Chinese were promised in the process.
According to the documents, China agreed to lend Kenya $1.6 billion (Sh190.77 billion) at 2% interest per year with a 0.25 percent commitment fee.
According to the contract, the SGR deal includes a 20-year loan with a seven-year grace period. Kenya agreed to repay the loan in 156 months (13 years) and to set aside 42.06 percent of the proceeds from the railway to do so.
