The team was on a feasibility study and validation of Agro-Industrial Park, Rural Transformation Centre, and Aggregation Centres in the region.

The two discussed how best the county in partnership with the national government can leverage the available opportunities for the county in a bid to boost the livelihoods of the residents of Kericho through the construction of aggregation centers and industrial parks.

This is in a bid to enhance quality and safety standards in a variety of crop value chains as Kericho County is known to be the largest tea[producer in the county and this was the best discussion to see how the parties can cooperate in trade and industrialization.

The visit according to Prof Chepkwony was to know how the county can have industrial parks and value additions of the products that the county produces and the available market.

‘’ This county is rich and if we take advantage to grow trade and industrialization, we will be in the right steps towards achieving our vision 2030. This is, therefore, a good start for the team to do a study and set up the required industrial centers to grow the economic livelihoods of Kericho residents and spur economic growth of the county’’ said Chepkwony

This will be a landmark move as the county seeks to transform the lives of its residents.

Chepkwony who is set to leave office in August after the expiry of his two terms as governor assured the team of continuous support from the County government and called on the stockholders to realize this dream after the conclusion of the feasibility study.
