Meru County Assembly Members on Tuesday approved only three out of a list of 10 nominated County Executives Committee members.

The 10 were nominated by Governor Kawira Mwangaza in October whom she claimed was “very qualified in their line of new duty.”

The three who were successful include; Dickson Munene for Public service, legal affairs and service management, Thuranira Joseph for Education, science culture, ICT, and Monica Kaithiori for Finance docket.

Those who were rejected include Dr. George Gikunda who was nominated for the Health docket,  Bishop Kiambi Atheru, an environmentalist (Water, Irrigation and Climate Executive), James Murungi (Roads, Transport, Energy) and Japhet Ndumba (Lands, Physical Planning).

Others are Harrison Gitonga, former South Imenti National Government-Constituency Development Fund head, who was nominated as Chief of Staff as well as Dennis Muriungi and Thuranira Atheru were picked as Chief Medical Advisor and Chief Legal Advisor, respectively.
