Livondo claimed during the event that a senior government official had plotted two assassination attempts on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Livondo's words went viral online, attracting the wrath of a group of lawmakers who demanded that he be detained for his remarks, despite the fact that the country is only six months away from the 2022 General Election.

Kuria added that he was the convener of the occasion and whatever Lovondo said wasn't right.

"As the convener of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika, I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility.”

“I have requested the DCI boss George Kinoti to arrest Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement," Kuria stated.

This comes at a time on Monday 21st the DCI took action over Livondo .

He is scheduled to appear at DCI headquarters to face questions from officers investigating the case.

However, the summon comes after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has been on the lookout for lawmakers who make remarks that could be seen as hate speech.
