MP Mishra Refutes Scholarships Withdrawal Allegations

According to Mishra the allegations are not true and urged the public to disregard them.

This came after reports had circulated online on Friday that the MP had canceled the scholarships after losing the recently held elections on August 9th.

Mishra, who gained notoriety for providing scholarships, giving away cows, and covering medical expenses for his supporters, claimed that it would be incredibly cruel to carry out such a deed.

Mishra, who was raised in Uasin Gishu, specifically Eldoret town, was born in Odiasha, Eastern India, and is proficient in Kalenjin.

The outspoken MP lost the Kesses parliamentary seat to Uasin Gishu County official, Julius Ruto.

Election results show that Mishra received just over 20,000 votes while Ruto received over 30,000.

Mishra is renowned for launching businesses that benefited his supporters. For instance, he began a program in 2018 when he provided free cows to families that did not already have one.

He claimed that the initiative was a part of his election pledge after he soundly defeated his opponents in the only race won by a non-local in the entire North Rift.

Additionally, Mishra became well-known for donating significantly to charitable causes and covering significant medical expenses for people who were admitted to his hospital.

One of his earlier election pledges, which also helped him win votes, was that he would pay his salary into a special fund to take care of the needs of the citizens.

Residents of the Kesses constituency gave him the name Kiprop Arap Chelule so that he would fit in with the Kalenjin people, who laud him for being a kind man.

Also securing scholarships for his constituents to study in India were the departing Kesses MP.
