Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has confirmed that indeed Turkish businessman Harun Aydin was part of Deputy President William Ruto's entourage to Uganda on Monday.

MP Oscar Sudi speaks out over Turkish ‘investor’ Harun Aydin

According to a local daily, Harun Aydin is a wanted terrorist who has faced terror charges before.

"To the doubting Thomases, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is not a kid to deal with someone of questionable repute, you can use your diplomatic connection and inquire from Ssebo himself the kind of interest that the Businessman has in Uganda," Sudi said.

However, the legislature said Harun Aydin is a Turkish investor interested in modern fruit farming and not a terrorist as alleged.

DP Ruto was yesterday blocked from traveling to Uganda in a dramatic scene at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport after he allegedly failed to seek clearance from the Head of Public Service.

In what seemed to be a rise of the falling out between Ruto and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta, the second-in-command was made to wait for more than four hours for clearance from “above” at the airport’s VIP lounge to no avail.

Reports from the DP’s office indicated that Ruto was traveling to Uganda on a one-day private visit to honor an invitation by some unnamed business moguls.

He was to be accompanied by a team of politicians and business people.

“He was headed to Uganda for a private visit,” Ruto’s spokesperson David Mugonyi said.

Among those accompanying the DP were MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Benjamin Tayari (Kinango), and Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), who were the first to arrive at the airport but were blocked by Immigration officers and asked to seek clearance from National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
