In a press conference on Tuesday, July 19, Iria revealed that he met with Raila about his manifesto and reached an agreement on the issues that will be prioritized during Raila's administration.

He specifically stated that if Azimio forms the next government, Raila has agreed to implement his one home, one cow program.

"I told Raila that if we combined his Ksh6,000 pledge and my cow program then we will take Kenyan families above the poverty line. I told him that those have to be in our joint manifesto and we did a deal. He stated that will happen," Mwangi stated.

The governor, who is serving his second and final term, ran for president last year before being disqualified by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Usawa Kwa Wote will support Raila's candidacy through that joint manifesto.

"My supporters will now rally in support of Raila Odinga," he stated.

He also stated that Azimio was his only option, claiming that other camps had conspired against his presidency.

"If I get to the Cabinet, I will implement all the programs because I have the knowledge. The people of Murang'a should therefore rally behind me and we shall demand that Raila gives me a cabinet position," he added.
