According to Cherargei, Munya is acting indisciplined because the order was issued by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He also stated that the CS should face disciplinary action for failing to obey the government.

Agriculture CS, Peter Munya was seen to support Azimio la Umoja coalition during the campaigns and this has made the Nandi senator urge him to work with the current government in order to provide the best services to Kenyans as the campaigns are over.

The absence of Agriculture CS Peter Munya from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's event also drew sharp criticism from Kenya Kwanza allies, who accused him of evading duty.

On Thursday, September 22, Gachagua flagged off a shipment of subsidized fertilizer to various parts of the country.

Following the new government's transition, the Head of Public Service, Dr. Joseph Kinyua, issued directives that cabinet secretaries should not issue any new policies for their ministries.

Kinyua also stated that current CSs will not be allowed to leave the country on official business, which means they will not be able to represent the Kenyan government. The circular also restricted expenditure by CSs within ministries to a maximum of Ksh.50 million, and anyone spending more than that must seek approval from the National Treasury.

The majority of the CSs have since prepared handover notes outlining their accomplishments during their tenure, existing gaps, and recommendations for where the new CSs should focus their efforts.
