Nation Media Under Fire for Publishing This About DP Ruto's Running Mate
Kenya Kwanza's running mate, Rigathi Gachagua has come out to accuse the Nation media after they made a false report of him as he went to cast his vote at Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County.
According to Gachagua, the media spread false information in order to harm his reputation.
Taking to his Twitter account, Mathira MP expressed his disappointment with the media platfrom.
Nation media you have ran a smear campaign with Kinoti for the last 3 years! Even as I voted in full glare of media you are running a false narrative that I was identified manually. How low can you sink? You have lowered yourself to the level of gutter press and yellow journalism pic.twitter.com/CCJpik3uB4

Gachagua arrived in the morning at the Mathira constituency accompanied by his family members, including his wife Gloria Gachagua and 91-year-old family friend Gathoni Njoroge Mwai.
He was delayed for a short while due to technical difficulties with the Kiems kit. Minutes later, he was able to cast his vote successfully.
I have exercised my democratic right and voted. Your vote counts as well. Vote and keep peace. pic.twitter.com/81VTsOndCR

Several polling stations in the country have also experienced Kiems kit failures.
Roots Party flagbearer George Wajackoyah and Nairobi County women's representative Esther Passaris both expressed dissatisfaction with the Kiems kit failures.
Esther Passaris was turned away and told to come back later as IEBC rushed to address the problems caused by the Kiems kit failures.
Juliana Cherera, the commission's vice chairperson, directed that a number of affected polling stations would revert to the manual register.
